The purpose of the Lewis Award Endowment Fund is to ensure the Award continues to recognize, promote and encourage teaching excellence in the Schools of the Diocese of Raleigh. The Endowment will allow development of new opportunities to attract and retain excellent teachers and administrators; to create ways to enrich teachers’ skills; and promote the Diocesan School System. From its inception in 1992, it has been entirely supported by private donations. The Lewis Award receives no funds from the Diocese of Raleigh.
